Nets -vs- BULLS!

10 Feb

On Monday night Sam and I made our way up to Newark, NJ to the Prudential Center for the New Jersey Nets vs Chicago Bulls basketball game. It was my first NBA game and Sam’s first Bulls game. He’s a BIG Bulls fan. We had a really good time. The stadium is gorgeous, by the way. And even though the food and beer were expensive, we still had a really good time. I definitely wanna get more tickets in the near future.

I got to see Kris Humphries play! After seeing him on Kourtney & Kim Take New York, it was crazy to see him actually playing basketball. And surprisingly, he’s one of the best players on his team. There was way more Bulls fans in the stands than there was Nets fans. It was kinda sad actually LOL..

But I just thought I’d share a few of the pictures that I took.

I am BACK!… for the moment at least.

24 Sep

It’s been almost two months since my last blog and I can’t believe I’ve neglected you this long. A lot has happened and a lot has changed and I can’t believe how everything has turned out since my previous roller coast ride blog entries from a few months ago. Things have really turned around for me and I feel so grateful.

Our apartment that we moved into is finally feeling more like home and we’re now in the “decorative” stages (Oh Lord, help us!). My family came to visit at the beginning of last month and it was their first time in New Jersey visiting me and we had such a great time. And since then I actually made my way home for a weekend which was fun, minus all the traveling nightmares that I had to deal with, which is a whole different story.

I’m absolutely loving my job! I love the people I work with and, most of the time, I love the work that I’m doing. I’m making good money and soon I’ll be getting promoted so I’m super excited about that. As of right now I’m working part time which I don’t mind at all. I get to leave the office at 3pm and I get every other Friday off, and who doesn’t like a three day weekend? NOBODY!

My dad is doing a lot better and recently got a new job that he’s really liking. My sister Rachel got put on the varsity cheer leading squad and my youngest sister Nicole, who is a freshman in high school btw, is playing on the varsity soccer team. I’m so happy for all of them.

Well, I thought I’d kinda catch everyone up on what has been going on recently and I’ll definitely attempt to blog a little more, especially since I got a new laptop yesterday! It’s totally awesome too.

Hope everyone had a fun Saturday night and stay tuned!

Somewhat of an anniversary

10 May

Two years ago today, I spontaneously jumped on a bus to New Jersey. I have to say that it was the best decision of my life. I was tired of the long distance relationship between me and my then boyfriend.  I’ve been here for two years and so many things have changed. Changes in my life, changes within myself, everything!

Since May 10th, 2009, I’ve grown up so much as a person. I’ve learned how to be independent, I’ve learned how to love unconditionally, I’ve learned how to  manage my time, and I’ve learned what it truly means to be loved. I’ve genuinely learned to open my heart so completely to another person and I wouldn’t trade my life or situation for anything else in the world.

If I hadn’t made the choice to get on the bus in Monroeville, Pa and traveled the 8 hours to New Jersey, I don’t know where I’d be or what I’d be doing right now but I can guarantee that I wouldn’t be as happy or feel as whole as I do today.

The hardest thing…

1 Mar

I’m leaving to go back to New Jersey tomorrow and as usual I’m upset that I have to say good bye to my family. Saying good bye to people you love is the hardest thing to do, in  my opinion. Not “good bye” in a death kinda way, obviously, but in a “see ya later” kinda way. Not knowing when the next time I’ll see them is THEE worst!

I don’t blame Sam at all but sometimes I question why I decided to move to Jersey and not Sam having to move to Pittsburgh. Sam has no idea what it’s like to be away from his family and friends for long periods of time. He doesn’t know what it’s like to truly miss his mom and dad. Unfortunately, I know it all too well. I could never leave Sam to come back home to Pittsburgh so I guess I’ll just have to suck it up and make the best of my time with my family whenever I get it, but that doesn’t mean I won’t complain when I have a chance.

You can’t have your cake and eat it too! – That’s how my life always has been and that’s how it always will be, I guess.

I had a really awesome birthday today and I had an amazing time while I’ve been home. I’m truly blessed to have such an amazing family.
