Nets -vs- BULLS!

10 Feb

On Monday night Sam and I made our way up to Newark, NJ to the Prudential Center for the New Jersey Nets vs Chicago Bulls basketball game. It was my first NBA game and Sam’s first Bulls game. He’s a BIG Bulls fan. We had a really good time. The stadium is gorgeous, by the way. And even though the food and beer were expensive, we still had a really good time. I definitely wanna get more tickets in the near future.

I got to see Kris Humphries play! After seeing him on Kourtney & Kim Take New York, it was crazy to see him actually playing basketball. And surprisingly, he’s one of the best players on his team. There was way more Bulls fans in the stands than there was Nets fans. It was kinda sad actually LOL..

But I just thought I’d share a few of the pictures that I took.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Summer 2011 Checklist :)

6 Jun

I thought it would be fun to put together a list of things I want to accomplish this summer. You know, something a little outside of just going to the beach or laying outside and trying to catch a tan.

So, here it goes:

Camping – I’ve never been camping before and I’d like to do it this summer. I want to spend the entire night outside and have a campfire, ghost stories, and smores! All the typical camping stuff.

Paint a picture – I use to paint all the time! Portraits and abstract  things but for some reason when I moved back from California, I stopped. I want to at least get the wheels back in motion this summer and try to come up with some ideas for a piece.

Have a picnic – Sam and I went to the park last week and brought some Chinese food and had some what of a picnic at the picnic tables. BUT, I want to have a legit picnic, with a picnic basket, a blanket, and sunshine.

Explore my surroundings – I’ve been in New Jersey for a little over two years now and I haven’t been to too many places yet. I want to just drive around and explore everything. Find new places to eat, new places to hang out, new stores to shop at, ect.

Spend an entire day poolside – I’m not a person to just sit around outside but I’d like to just relax by the pool with a book or with my laptop and just relax for a whole day. No interruptions, no drama, no worrying.

Go to a baseball game – I don’t care if it’s a major league, minor league, or little league game. I’m not the biggest baseball fan (especially since I’m from Pittsburgh and we’ve never had too much faith in the Pirates), but I really enjoy just sitting at a game, drinking a beer, and eating hot dogs and nachos and stuff. There’s a minor league team right down the street from where I live so I’m hoping to catch a game there soon.

Organize a softball or basketball game – There’s no leagues around here for adults or at least not for women. I’d love to just get a group of people together to play a game of softball or a pick up game of basketball.

Find a job – This summer I have no more excuses. I need to really buckle down and find a job.

Create a summer reading list – Thanks to Melissa over at Press Play for suggesting a book called The Help, I’ve put together a list of a few other books that I’d like to read also. All different books from mystery, to religion, to romance novels.

BLOG MORE! – Blog more about more interesting things.

I’d love to see some of your checklists for the summer, so I could possibly add some things to my list 🙂

Hook a girl up!

Oh, LeBron!

12 Jan

Let me start by saying that I’m not a fan of the NBA, until play off time. I don’t watch it regularly unless Sam is watching it in the same room. But I’m sure everyone knows about the drama LeBron James encountered last summer when he announced his big decision to leave Cleavland and take his talents to South Beach. Needless to say, Cleavland was in an uproar. Even the owner of the Cavs was sooo highly upset that he thought it was appropriate to write a letter to LeBron and published it online saying something along the lines of, “we’ll get a ring before you do” and “you’re cursed with bad luck.” And so on and so forth.

So here’s where it gets kinda funny. The Cavs record this season is 8-30, while the Heat’s record is 30-9. Isn’t that a shame? But wait! This is even more hilarious!.. The Cavs played the Lakers last night and the final score was 112-57! So awful!.. After the game LeBron tweeted, “Crazy. Karma is a b****.. Gets you every time. Its not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!”

Although, it wasn’t very classy for him to say anything, I’m overjoyed that he did. He’s completely right and the way the entire state of Ohio treats this man when he comes in town to play is PATHETIC. I don’t know how long Cleavland expected him to stay there with out any help. How long would have been a sufficient amount of time? A decade? 15 years? Hopefully last nights Cav’s game will make a lot of Ohioans a Heat fan, or at least give LeBron the respect he deserves.

Ok, enough sports talk.. This is weird… HAHA!
