30 May
I’m not much of a beach person but I’d give my left hand to be in that cabana up there on that pier. I’d most likely never leave!
Hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day!

Weekend Wrap-Up!

30 May

(Sam and his cousin’s son Gabriel)

This passed weekend was pretty eventful. Well, more eventful than most, I should say. On Friday it was Sam’s birthday! He just turned 27 years old (I know, he’s getting up there) LOL! We had an appointment with my lawyer that morning but after that we hung out and then went to dinner later on in the evening. We went to Longhorns for the first time and I have to say I was impressed. I know that they are affiliated with Olive Garden and stuff so I thought it would be like fake, mediocre kind of food. But I got the grilled chicken and strawberry salad and it was amazing! I really, really liked it. I always put strawberries in my salads and I never thought a restaurant would catch on to the idea, but luckily, they did. Sam got ribs and his dad got a chicken sandwich and they liked it a lot, so I think we’ll go back soon.

Saturday, Sam had to work but managed to get out early and we were able to go to his sister and his cousin’s graduation party in northern New Jersey. A lot of Sam’s cousins were there that are in the military that we don’t get to see often so we had a really good time. We played a bunch of card games that involved drinking and some “bucket pong”, which is like beer pong but outside with buckets and a tennis ball. Sounds rather easy, but trust me, it is not!

Sunday I just hung out till about 5 when Sam got out of work and today is about the same. Tomorrow Sam is off and I hope we’ll get together with his cousins down here and spend the day in the sun!

The beginning of summer is upon us people, and I couldn’t be happier.

30 May

Hey everyone! We made it passed the end of the world! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to rejoice about the world not ending a little over a week ago.

Lately, I’ve been going through a bunch of stuff and been stressing out about a lot of things. I’d blog about them but I feel like I need to keep some things in my life private. I hate judgement and I would hate to blog about certain things that mean a lot to me and have someone critique what I’ve done or what I am doing. I guess I’m starting to learn that blogging is great and it helps me sort things out and learn a lot about myself and others but there’s a point where some things need to stay private and personal. Hopefully, what I’m going through will be over soon.

I’m realizing that I have a blog that is open to the entire internet and I have a diary that only opens for me.

Doomsday, Judgement Day, END OF THE WORLD!!!

20 May

I’m sure by now, everyone has heard the news that the world will supposedly end on Saturday, May 21st. If you don’t know, that’s TOMORROW! So, with all of that being said, I thought we’d play a game. Whether you believe in all this “end of the world” talk or not.

1. Post a secret that you don’t want to take to your grave.

2. What would you have as your last supper?

3. If you could take one thing with you to the other side, what would it be & why?

You can either leave a comment or write a post, but make sure you ping me or leave me a link cuz I’m interested to see what everyone would tell, eat, or take with them!

My field trip

11 May

Sam and I don’t usually do much on his days off but today we decided to go up to Jersey City and check out the Liberty Science Center. It was pretty awesome. Besides the fact that we were surrounded by children on field trips the whole time, it was exceptionally fun. We went through all three floors and looked at information about germs, water life, reptiles and amphibians, insects, and a floor all about energy. We also went to the IMAX theater and watched this awesome movie called Tornado Alley.

We spent the entire afternoon there and we were so exhausted by the time we got back home that we just crashed on the bed and took a nap LOL! I’m such an old woman. If you’re ever in the Jersey City area, you should definitely check out the Liberty Science Center.

Somewhat of an anniversary

10 May

Two years ago today, I spontaneously jumped on a bus to New Jersey. I have to say that it was the best decision of my life. I was tired of the long distance relationship between me and my then boyfriend.  I’ve been here for two years and so many things have changed. Changes in my life, changes within myself, everything!

Since May 10th, 2009, I’ve grown up so much as a person. I’ve learned how to be independent, I’ve learned how to love unconditionally, I’ve learned how to  manage my time, and I’ve learned what it truly means to be loved. I’ve genuinely learned to open my heart so completely to another person and I wouldn’t trade my life or situation for anything else in the world.

If I hadn’t made the choice to get on the bus in Monroeville, Pa and traveled the 8 hours to New Jersey, I don’t know where I’d be or what I’d be doing right now but I can guarantee that I wouldn’t be as happy or feel as whole as I do today.

New notebook!

9 May

Yesterday I got a new notebook! I keep a notebook in my purse and with me at all times. It’s dorky, but anytime I’m out and I think of something to blog about, a question I may have, a feeling I may be feeling, or just anything, I write it down. It doesn’t matter where I am. Sometimes if I’m in Target and something happens or I think of something, I bring out my notebook and a pen and just write it down. People probably think I’m so weird, but what-ev.

My old notebook got filled up pretty fast. Sometimes I almost use it as a journal, forgetting that I have a separate book for that. Sometimes I’ll write a draft or just kinda brainstorm a blog entry in my notebook. It’s really just a cluster fuck of different things. Someone said that it was very “Harriet the spy” like. I laughed.

I think everyone should carry around a notebook or something. I know some people use a memo app on their phone but I like to be a little more hands on. I know journalist and musicians and even artists carry around little notebooks or sketch pads in case they are out and struck with a creative or inspirational thought.

Just thought I’d make a suggestion 🙂
